This doll is part of Karan McKibben’s larger collection. In 1951, when Karan was seven years old, she caught polio, which left her disabled and in a wheelchair. She lived in Los Alamos, NM, and for the next decade, people would bring back a doll for Karan from the many places they visited.
Dressed in traditional traditional Burmese garb this ornate carved and hand painted figurine makes for an excellent conversation piece.
Collection donated in Karan’s memory.
