This beautiful Crete cloth doll features fabric wrapped heads that are realistically hand painted with gorgeous detail as well as a lovely hand stitched layered dress.
This doll is part of Karan McKibben’s larger collection. In 1951, when Karan was seven years old, she caught polio, which left her disabled and in a wheelchair. She lived in Los Alamos, NM, and for the next decade, people would bring back a doll for Karan from the many places they visited.
Collection donated in Karan’s memory.
